Refreshment Rooms in High Salvington

Salvington Hill, Worthing BN13, UK

Established in 2022, the Refreshment Rooms can be found on top of Salvington Hill in High Salvington, Worthing, West Sussex.

A popular spot for dog walkers and locals, this dog friendly micro pub serves different types of coffees, teas, soft drinks, sandwiches, cakes, brownies, ales, craft beer and wine. Coffee connoisseurs may also be interested to know that Refreshment Rooms now stock the UK’s first CBD infused coffee from the naked barista, another local business to Worthing.

On Thursdays and Fridays, alternating food trucks pop up at the Refreshment Rooms, serving some of the best street food in Sussex — from pizza, to burgers, tacos and even mac ‘n’ cheese — we’re slightly drooling as we write this! On a Sunday afternoon after 1:30PM, they even serve up a cheeseboard, including chutneys and meats to accompany the different types of cheeses. We don’t think you’ll ever want to leave this place!

On-site there’s a large outdoor seating area, while the inside boasts a stylish and cosy interior, perfect for a winter’s day.

Running low on essentials? No need to worry, after you’ve finished your drink, you can pop into the on-site shop and stock up on vitals — from milk, to frozen food and that all important bottle of wine.

The Refreshment Rooms are open Monday – Saturday 8AM – 10PM and from 8AM – 6PM on a Sunday. There’s an adjacent free car park and the Stagecoach number 7 bus stops on Salvington Hill.

Local walks and attractions to the Refreshment Rooms

There are a number of dog walks you can try out in the High Salvington area. If you follow Honeysuckle Lane, you’ll be lead onto a circular walk which leads onto enclosed fields and the rolling hills of the South Downs.

There’s also the option of heading to The Gallops if you follow Furze Road and onto Bost Hill, which features a basketball court, children’s playground and outdoor gym.

Along Furze Road you’ll find High Salvington Windmill, a beautifully restored working windmill from the 18th century. The windmill is open for tours on the first and third Sunday from April to September.
